BROOKLYN - The Brooklyn Area Veterans Memorial Committee is hosting a dance as a fundraiser for the Veterans Memorial that will honor Brooklyn area veterans from the War of 1812 forward to the present day.

The dance will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Brooklyn Community Building. Music will be provided by Bob Klinger and his band. There is a $10 admission at the door for adults.

The Brooklyn Area Veterans Memorial will be located on the west edge of Brooklyn and is scheduled for construction in 2015.

Throughout the evening there will be drinks, food, refreshment and raffles with all proceeds going to the veteran's fund to assist in building the memorial. At 9 p.m., a drawing will be held to name the winners of Veterans Memorial Raffle, with 13 prizes in all. Tickets can be purchased from any Veterans Committee member or by calling 608-516-5401 or 608-455-2072. Winners do not have to be in attendance to win. Tickets are $5 each or three for $10.
