MONROE - Jan. 19-21, Studio M Dance Academy attended JUMP in Chicago, a convention and competition for dancers, which it regularly attends as a convention and not as a competition.
Included in the weekend is an opportunity to audition for the teachers at JUMP. During this audition, one of the dancers from Studio M, Olivia Hendrickson, won a Jazz, Contemporary and Lyrical Class Scholarship to JUMP this summer in San Diego.
As a convention, Studio M has the privilege of attending classes taught by masters in the field of dance. Dancers and teachers gain a great deal of information and instruction about dance. Studio M uses the JUMP convention as a way to broaden the teachers' education in the teaching field of dance and the dancers have an opportunity to have instruction given to them from others teachers.
