MONROE - The June Dairy Month celebration gets underway in Green County with Breakfast on the Farm, held each year on the last Saturday in May, and culminates with the Dairy Day Parade and the selection of the county's Dairy Queen and Princess at the end of June.
More than 5,000 people attended this year's breakfast at the Wegmueller Family Farm. The Green County Ag Chest sponsors the event, along with the dairy queen program. The group also promotes agriculture and tourism in Green County and supports youth involved in agriculture through scholarships and grants.
