JUDA - Kelsey Cramer of Juda has been named the 2017 Wisconsin Holstein Association Princess Attendant.
Cramer was crowned at the Saturday evening banquet during the Wisconsin Junior Holstein Convention held Jan. 6-8 in coordination with the Dane County Junior Holstein Association at Glacier Canyon Lodge in Wisconsin Dells.
Cramer, 19, is the daughter of Bob and Nikki Cramer and a 2016 graduate of Juda High School. She is a freshman studying speech therapy at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She hopes to share her agriculture background and knowledge by reaching out to students on campus not involved in the dairy industry, according to a news release. She also plans to pursue her master's degree in communication sciences and disorders to work in a rural elementary school or neonatal intensive care unit, practicing speech and language therapy.
Cramer has been a part of her family's dairy operation, RHC Holsteins, for as long as she can remember, the release said. She has exhibited at the local and district Holstein shows and is active as a junior member of the Wisconsin Holstein Association. She wants to continue the growth and expansion of her own herd by improving the longevity and quality of her cattle, with the ultimate goal of having a registered Holstein herd of her own.
While serving in the royalty role, Cramer will utilize her experience as a past Green County Dairy Queen to speak with the public about agriculture, as well as utilize her writing and communication skills to represent the Wisconsin Holstein Association and its mission.
Wisconsin Holstein royalty are asked to travel throughout the state, making speaking and educational appearances as well as handing out awards at Wisconsin Holstein events. They act as hostesses at Wisconsin Holstein events and attend various additional events, including community and county fair events, Cows on the Concourse and the World Dairy Expo.
