PLATTEVILLE - The University of Wisconsin-Extension will be hosting a beef cow-calf workshop at 5:45 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Ag Technology Center on Pioneer Farm in Platteville.
The workshop will start with a complimentary meal prepared and served by the UW-Platteville Block and Bridle Club. The program will start at 6:30 p.m. and focus on mineral nutrition for the cow-calf operation, weed and brush management in pastures and grazing cover crops. Speakers include Dr. Patrick Gunn, cow-calf specialist from Iowa State Extension; Kory Stalsberg, UW-Extension dairy and livestock agent; and Ted Bay, UW-Extension crops and farm management agent.
The workshop is free because of support from the Wisconsin Beef Improvement Association, Grant County Cattlemen, UW-Platteville Block and Bridle Club and UW-Extension of Grant, Lafayette, Buffalo and Monroe counties.
