DARLINGTON - Nearly 85 4-H youth from Lafayette County came together to have a day of discovery, meet new people, learn a new skill and work on 4-H projects.
The 4-H Project Day was held March 27, at the Darlington Elementary/Middle School.
Youth who attended 4-H Project Day included, Madeline and Nick Andrae; Brooklyn and Hailey Barth, Antonia, Thomasina, Samantha, Stephanie and Robyn Beranek; Tyler Berget; Cheyenne Burgess; Katie Calvert; Miles and Anna Carper; Taylor and Cole Crist; Mason, Jenna and Brayden Dailey; Megan, Gracie and Brooke Douglas; Brianna Gavinski; Maggie and Janie Gleason; Alexia Graham; Payton Gratz; Michael and Mariah Kendall; Brandi Kent; Kendra Lattin; Brianna Leahy; Jenna, Myles, Olyvia, Claire and Katie Leahy; Colton Long; Julia Mau; Hannah McCarthy; Jared and Judith Meister; Michelle Meylor; Nathan Millin; Kyle Monson; Caleb O'Neill; Kassandra Palzkill; McKenzie and Taylor Reuter; Reagan and Madison Russell; Bailey and Kelsey Schilling; Kyle Schilling; Lacie and Hannah Smith-Keicher; Ryan and Tyler Stauffacher; Sydney Stolee; Emma Tuescher; Jarron Vinger; Thomas and Nathan Wessel; Zach Woodworth and Dylan Zasada.
Sessions offered at 4-H Project Day included scrapbooking, a session for 4-H Cloverbuds and Explorers (introductory activities to 4-H), sewing, gardening crafts (making wind chimes and planters), woodworking (making small whistles), eating healthy, and meat animal quality assurance for youth exhibiting meat animals to learn about proper care and handling. Several 4-H volunteers and ambassadors helped make the 2010 4-H Project Day a wonderful learning and fun environment. Volunteers who led sessions included, Carolyn Abraham, Heidi Brenum, Soni Wolfe, Lori Berget, Peg Rasch, Natalie Andrae, Bridget Schilling, Shelly Eicher, Pat and Jane Kleiber and Mary Knellwolf. The ambassadors who assisted included, LeeAnn and Tina Kurschner and Jordin Wedig.
