'Cook of the Week' event features products from GC

CHICAGO - Products from Green County were showcased during a "Cook of the Week" event held in Chicago on Nov. 2.

Cook of the Week, a three-month promotion involving print and online advertising and editorial content, was sponsored by Daily Herald newspapers. It featured a series of cooks' challenges, with chefs creating recipes using various ingredients each week - including cheese from Maple Leaf Cheese Store in Juda and Moonshine from Minhas Micro Distillery in Monroe.

The final challenge took place during a ticketed event for 500 people. Green County Tourism hosted several tables with samples of local products and distributed area visitor guides and brochures.
