Conservation league plans banquet

ARGYLE — The Green County Conservation League’s annual fall meeting and banquet will be held Oct. 17 at the Argyle Rod and Gun Club, W9408 Wisconsin 11/81. Doors open at 5 p.m. followed by dinner and a meeting at 6:30 p.m.

The speaker this year will be from Trout Unlimited on the topic of their projects in Green County and surrounding counties. Trout Unlimited, a national conservation organization, with members at the meeting from the Dane County Charter, an active group in improving trout fishing in Southern Wisconsin.

The campers the league sponsored at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point/Central Wisconsin Environmental Station at Amherst Junction, will also be providing a short program. The league has sponsored campers at the Central Wisconsin Environmental Station for over 20 years.

League memberships and tree orders will be available at the door, as well as raffle tickets and information from league officers and directors.

Officers for next year are Eric Onsrud, president; Ryan Schutte, vice president; Norm Williams, secretary; and Nate Bloom, treasurer.
