UW-Whitewater

WHITEWATER — The following students have been serving as the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater’s 2019 peer mentors:

Belleville: Claire Butters, accounting; Lauren Severson, entrepreneurship

Brodhead: Brooke Bescup, communication

Serving as guides for incoming students throughout their first semester, peer mentors are selected in a competitive process. Successful peer mentors lead students through “Warhawk Welcome,” a weeklong orientation for new students at the start of the academic year. They continue to provide peer support and advice as co-instructors in New Student Seminar, a course taught alongside a UW-Whitewater faculty or staff member. There are currently 91 peer mentors for new students, four peer mentors for transfer students, and five orientation leaders for transfer students.


UW-Platteville

PLATTEVILLE — Thirty-four University of Wisconsin-Platteville students were recently inducted into Phi Kappa Phi, an honor society that recognizes academic achievement of top students in all majors.

Selection of students is made on the basis of academic achievement supported by good character and is designed to promote academic excellence in higher education and recognize outstanding achievements.

Wartburg College

WAVERLY, Iowa — Emily Raab of Warren was named to the Wartburg College Fall Term Dean’s List.

The list honors students who earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above in at least four course credits during the term. Three of the four course credits have to be graded with a traditional letter grade.


Bradley University

PEORIA, Illinois — Miah Stiefel of Warren was named to the Bradley University fall 2019 Dean’s List.

To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must achieve a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the semester on a 4.0 scale.


Berry College

ROME, Georgia — Tessa Sheridan of New Glarus was named to the Fall 2019 Dean’s List at Berry College. The Dean’s List honors students who posted an academic average of 3.5 or better while carrying a class load of at least 12 hours during the semester.
