MONROE - The Young Professionals of Green County spent their Third Thursday Happy Hour on Nov. 15 at Baumgartner's Cheese Store and Tavern, not only to network and sample some of Wisconsin's cheeses but also to collect toys for The Woman's Club Christmas Stocking Fund.

Thursday gatherings serve as a way for people in the community, many of them new, to network in a relaxed social setting and see/support local businesses. The event on Nov. 15 attracted more than 30 attendees from a wide range of companies, professions, education and backgrounds. Their donations filled two boxes with toys and games for local youth.

The next Third Thursday Happy Hour will be held at 5 p.m. Dec. 20 at the Heritage House. Those who attend will have another opportunity to give as the Young Professionals' will be collecting donations for the Green County Humane Society. One local business through the Young Professionals, Beast Buffet, has a list of items needed and agreed to a 25 percent discount on items being purchased to donate. Those who purchase need to mention donations are for the Green County Humane Society.
