MONROE — Each year, hundreds of community members take advantage of Monroe Clinic’s seasonal flu clinics. In order to maximize your ability to stay healthy, everyone 6 months and older should receive a flu shot. The flu vaccination can reduce flu illnesses, visits to the doctor and missed work or school due to the flu. Monroe Clinic offers flu clinics starting Oct. 9 and ending in December.
The high-dose influenza vaccine, Fluzone High-Dose, designed specifically for people 65 years and older, is also available. Studies have shown the high-dose vaccine offers older adults a better immune response, and better protection against the flu.
The pneumonia vaccine is available upon request. Cash, check or credit card will be accepted for payment. For convenience, a patient’s insurance company may be billed. Individuals are encouraged to wear a shirt with sleeves that easily roll up or short sleeves when receiving their vaccine.
Monroe Clinic flu clinics are available throughout the area, including our local branch clinics. Wisconsin locations include Albany, Brodhead, New Glarus, Monroe and Monroe FastCare. Illinois locations include Durand, Lena and Freeport Clinic, with convenient weekday and weekend hours.
