City honors firemen, Moser during meetings

MONROE — After 39 years as a member of the Monroe Board of Park and Recreation Commissioners, Barb Moser has left her post. She was honored during the April 19 board meeting.

Those speaking to honor her included Board President Brian Saugstad, Recreation Director Matt Skibba, former Recreation Director Marge Klinzing, former teacher and Parks staffer Linda Moser, Parks Secretary Mary Jo Dammen and Barb Moser’s neighbors Tom and Rite Farris.

Josh Dye will fill Moser’s seat. Saugstad jokingly asked Dye if he was “ready for a 39-year term?”

The current Board members include Barb Gelbach, Braden Rindy, Tony Wellman, Rob Schilt, Alderperson Lynne Kleven, Kelli Brunton, Reid Stangle, Dye and Saugstad.

Park Supervisor Josh Trame also gave an update at the meeting on park maintenance and improvements.
