MONROE - The Monroe City Band will present its annual Variety Show, "Just For Fun," at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at Turner Hall, 1217 17th Ave.
Master of Ceremonies Dan "Baker" Blum will serve as the host. The program will also include vocalist Lydia Steinmann and the Studio "M" Dancers, accompanied by an 18-piece ensemble. The band will perform several selections in the Big Band-style, from Gershwin to the music of Motown.
Tickets are $7 and are available from the members of the band or at the door.
The Variety Show is an outgrowth of the collaboration between the Lion's Club and the City Band reaching back into the early 1960s, and has evolved into the cabaret format.
