Christmas stocking needs volunteers for deliveries

MONROE - More than 500 food boxes need to be delivered by volunteers to more than 300 families within the city of Monroe for the Christmas Stocking Fund, starting at 6:30 a.m. Friday at Dearth Chrysler Motors.

A driver and partner will be given a route of one to four addresses to deliver food boxes. Addresses on the delivery routes are grouped as close to each other as possible. Phone numbers are provided for drivers to call during delivery so those receiving boxes can help unload upon arrival. Route sheets given to drivers when food boxes are picked up must be returned to Dearth's upon completion of the route.

Those who can afford the time may take additional routes. It is understood that some drivers are taking time off from work, and any time that can be allocated for delivery of the food boxes is appreciated.

If enough people volunteer, all the boxes will be delivered by 8:30 a.m. Call Jennifer Spielman at 214-1335 with any questions.
