The Ringing Badgers of Madison will present a free Christmas concert on Sunday, December 10 at 3 pm at the United Methodist Church of Monroe.

MONROE — Madison’s Ringing Badgers Handbell Ensemble, under the direction of Mark Bloedow, will present their annual Sounds of the Season concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10 at Monroe United Methodist Church, 2227 4th Street, Monroe. This will be the ensemble’s third visit to Monroe, with previous appearances in January of 2019 and 2020.

The Ringing Badgers is an auditioned handbell choir based in Madison, and includes handbell musicians from primarily south-central Wisconsin. The group made its debut in 2012, and currently performs with five octaves of handbells and seven octaves of handchimes, all made by the Malmark Bellcraftsmen of Plumsteadville, Penn.

The ensemble enjoys an exciting performance schedule each season presenting concerts, as well as guest appearances with other groups and solo concerts including the Madison Area Community Christmas Festival, Choral Arts Society Chorale Holiday Concert, and the Madison Area Community Earth Day Concert.

The Ringer Badgers’ varied program will feature beloved Christmas carols and arrangements of sacred and popular Christmas songs. An audience sing-along and guest performers will also be included. All are welcome to attend, with a free-will donation to be accepted. The church is handicapped-accessible with ample parking.
