MONROE — If you have a child who loves Cheese Days and dreams of being royal, we have just the opportunity.
Green County Cheese Days is seeking a prince and princess to complete the royal family for the 2026 festival. The pair will assist with public relations, record radio commercials, and appear in parades. In a long-standing tradition, the prince and princess will be featured on promotional billboards in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
The Cheese Days Prince and Princess Contest is open to Green County residents who are at least six years old by the start of the festival weekend, and not older than twelve when the festivities conclude. This year’s festival will be held Sept. 18-20. Contestants must wear Swiss attire for judging.
Children selected as prince and princess must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who will provide transportation to and from all appearances and events.
Judging appointments for the contest will be set on the morning of Saturday, June 6, at the Historic Green County Courthouse in downtown Monroe. Contestants will be evaluated on personality, appearance, and speaking ability. All candidates will be invited to attend the award ceremony held at noon that same day. Children should be prepared to speak into a microphone in front of the audience at the ceremony.
