Chalet Landhaus in New Glarus recently went online with its new rooftop solar array, and is estimated to produce 225,000 KWh in its first year, offsetting nearly all electricity consumed.

NEW GLARUS — The Chalet Landhaus, the largest hotel in New Glarus, is recently announced their solar photovoltaic system is now up and running and producing green energy.

“This, we believe, is the largest solar array on any home or business in Green County,” Briana Lenzlinger, Chalet Landhaus General Manager wrote in a press release.

The array has 445 panels and is estimated to produce 225,000 KWh in the first year, offsetting nearly all the electricity consumed. The solar panels cover all three buildings at the hotel

Guests will soon be able to track the energy production on a display board in the hotel lobby.

“Along with new EV charging stations installed in 2022, the Chalet Landhaus is a true leader of green energy in Green County,” Lenzlinger said.
