MONROE - The Michael family reunion will start with a cemetery walk at the Michael Cemetery at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1. The cemetery is about five miles west of Monroe on Wisconsin 11, then south on Allen Road about just less than a mile. The cemetery sits back off the road and signs will point the way.
Family members will portray their ancestors by telling of their lives and history of their family. The first burial was that of Thomas Michael, youngest son of Phillip and Lovicy Michael, who died in February 1836 at the age of three months.
The public is invited to attend the cemetery walk. The Green County Genealogical Society will be directing cars and assisting with parking along with having the Cadiz township cemetery books for sale.
At noon, the families will gather at Cadiz State Park off of Wis. 11 for a picnic lunch. Those that have a connection to the longtime Green County Michael family are invited to attend.
It is asked that you bring a dish to pass and confirm that you are interested in attending by calling Sue. Meat and beverage will be provided. For more information, contact Sue at (608) 325-6143.
