MONROE - Monroe Clinic will host a caregivers support group from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 10 at the Cardiac Rehab Conference Room in Monroe Clinic, 515 22nd Ave.
The Green County Caregiver Coalition recently conducted a family caregiving survey to learn how the coalition could better support family members in their roles as caregivers. Nearly half of survey respondents indicated that participating in a support group would be useful.
The group is facilitated by Sarah Endicott, geriatric nurse practitioner at Monroe Clinic, and Linnea Guse, information and assistance specialist for Aging and Disability Resource Center. The support group will give people who are providing care to a family member an opportunity to ask questions, learn creative and caring problem-solving techniques, share caregiving ideas and learn about community resources.
The caregiver support group will regularly meet the second Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. in Café Room 3 (adjacent to the café) on the second floor of hospital.
More information is available by contacting Deanna Truedson at (608) 843-3402.
The group is co-sponsored by the Aging and Disability Resource Center, the Alzheimer's and Dementia Alliance and Monroe Clinic.
