MONROE - Green County Special Olympics was selected to represent Special Olympics Wisconsin in a television commercial. Samantha Larson and Anita Bonjour, Monroe, and Bryan Smith, Monticello, experienced making a commercial in Madison with University of Wisconsin's own Bucky Badger.
The commercial (aired by Charter Communications) features the athletes and Bucky Badger promoting the opportunity to win a "Bucky Bike." The Bucky Bike is a custom-built chopper with Wisconsin Badger flair and is valued at $40,000. It was built by Jeff Bach and 2 Wheel Film Inc. of Stoughton and is made of 100 percent Wisconsin parts.
The total proceeds from the Bucky Bike raffle will benefit Special Olympics Wisconsin thanks to Kwik Trip, 2 Wheel Films Inc., and Badger Sports Properties. The drawing will be held on Jan. 17, 2009 at the Kohl Center in Madison.
