JANESVILLE - On Aug. 21 and 22, Blackhawk Technical College will host New Student Orientation sessions at the Central Campus between Beloit and Janesville to familiarize new students with college facilities and services.

The Monroe Campus will host their New Student Orientation session from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 21.

The first Central Campus session on Thursday, August 21 will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. and the second session on Friday, August 22 will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Students can choose to attend either one of the two sessions, but do not need to attend both as they are identical to one another. Parents, spouses, and significant others are welcome and encouraged to attend New Student Orientation with the student(s).

New Student Orientation will familiarize students with campus facilities and services that are crucial to their success at the college. This information is intended to give students a head start on their academic endeavors.

Students attending New Student Orientation will receive information on financial aid, academic support services, student involvement opportunities, and scholarship opportunities. Also, support staff will be available to answer questions about the first day of classes, parking, classroom locations and campus safety. Students will also be able to receive their Student IDs and Fitness Center memberships at both sessions.

The Student Government Association will host a reception at the conclusion of each session in the lobby of the Central Campus, featuring student involvement information, free snacks and prizes.
