KENOSHA - Erica Baxter of Brodhead participated in a study tour to Honduras with Carthage College.
"Biodiversity, Brains and Behavior" offered students the opportunity to study the ecology of a Caribbean coral reef ecosystem; learn about the evolution of nervous systems and behavior; and study Honduran culture. Terrestrial adventure included an archaeological tour of the Mayan ruins at Copan. After becoming scuba-certified, students learned about unique aspects of tropical coral reef ecosystems and the taxonomy and neurobiology of marine life.
Baxter took part in the study tour during J-Term, a special month-long period of study in which students explore subjects outside their majors through classes held on campus and around the world.
