ROCKFORD - Steve Stadelman, a 1978 graduate of Brodhead High School, recently won the election for the Illinois 34th District Senate seat. He was previously victorious in the Democratic Senate primary last spring.
Stadelman has been the news anchor for Channel 17, WTVO for 25 years, winning journalism awards and anchoring a statewide governors' debate. He also coached Rockford youth sports activities.
Stadelman graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in journalism. He was selected for the Brodhead High School Wall of Fame several years ago.
Stadelman lives in Rockford, Ill., with his wife, Patty, and children, Austin, 14; Nikolas, 11; and 10-year-old twins, Drew and Angela. He is the son of Erv and Jeanne Stadelman, Brodhead.
