Blood drive draws 27 pints from 32 donors

SOUTH WAYNE - Deferrals kept the May 12 Lafayette County Blood Drive at Black Hawk High School in South Wayne from making quota.

Thirty-two donors presented with five deferrals, making the total donation 27 pints. The goal is 30.

Six new donors, Molly Bechtolt, Katie Brummel, Lacey Sigafus, Jorden Rupnow, Todd Seffrood and Melissa Wellnitz, donated. Other donors were Lucas Stietz, Becky Stietz, Richard Fernstaedt, James Stietz, Bonnie Gordon, Ellen Rogers, Cheryl Dale, Grant Dale, David Echerman, Thomas Wellnitz, Elizabeth Werren, Blake Wand, Carol Ruegsegger, Mark Liphart, Carol Meier, Constance Meier, Juanita Gilbertson, Al Mau, John Hagen, Gerald Stietz, Edwin Ernst, Gregory Seffrood, Kent Meier, Cassie Jorgenson, Tanya Liphart, and Stephen Ruegsegger.

Business teacher Joan Miller and The National Honor Society were in charge of the canteen. Those donating their time and food were Katie Brummel, Hillary Holland, Mackenzie Monson, Molly Bechtolt, Morgan Nelson, Jorden Rupnow, Rachel Rygh, Megan Vosberg, Melissa Wellnitz, Katie Place, Savanna Kaster, Ashley Schiferl, Chelsey Wilde, Kim Wellnitz, Cassie Jorgenson and Joan Miller. Others helpers were Joyce Paulson, Connie Meier and Delorous McCauley.
