MONROE — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Green County announced this week the relocation of their offices into the newly expanded Green County Family YMCA. This strategic move aims to strengthen community ties, increase program visibility, and provide enriched experiences for both mentors (“Bigs”) and mentees (“Littles”).

The YMCA’s recent expansion, made possible by a generous gift from Colony Brands, added 60,000 square feet of state-of-the-art facilities, including a Youth Development Center, Healthy Living Kitchen, and Fireside Lounge. These amenities offer Big Brothers Big Sisters an ideal environment to host activities, workshops, and events that foster meaningful connections between Bigs and Littles.

“Moving into the YMCA is a transformative step for our organization,” said Shannon Kaszuba, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Green County. “The new space not only increases our visibility within the community but also provides diverse opportunities for our matches to engage in enriching activities together.”

Trent Henning, Executive Director of the Green County Family YMCA, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership:

“We are thrilled to welcome Big Brothers Big Sisters into our facility expansion! This collaboration exemplifies our commitment to being more than just a gym — we’re a community hub dedicated to nurturing youth development and fostering strong relationships.”

This relocation aligns with the missions of both organizations to empower youth and strengthen community bonds. Big Brothers Big Sisters and the YMCA look forward to collaborating on future projects to offer programs that address the diverse needs of Green County families.
