Spearheaded by Thrivent Financial of Monroe, a first-ever Generosity Day was held on the Square this year. A number of Monroe-area nonprofits participated to allow interested individuals to become more informed and involved with these groups. Main Street Monroe recently recognized Thrivent with a plaque for "best new event" on the Square this year. Shown from left are Erik Haworth and Nikki Matley, the principal organizer of the event.
