BELLEVILLE - Gov. Scott Walker has officially proclaimed the week of March 19-23 as "Project Lead The Way Week." Wisconsin will celebrate the statewide impact on its schools, students, teachers and economy during the week.

The project leads up to the PLTW Wisconsin Day at the Capitol from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today. This annual event brings together Wisconsin students, educators, business leaders and policymakers who are passionate about learning, discovery and innovation. The gathering is an opportunity to see students' impressive work firsthand, celebrate student achievement and unite for conversation, collaboration and problem-solving around education and workforce development challenges.

This year's program features nine schools from around the state. Students will showcase their PLTW projects in PLTW Launch for grades K-fifth, PLTW Gateway for grades six through eighth and the three high school programs, PLTW computer science, PLTW engineering, and PLTW biomedical science. Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch will address the students and invited guests at noon.

Belleville School District will be in attendance with Launch, Gateway and Engineering students and teachers.

PLTW is a nonprofit organization that provides a transformative learning experience for K-12 teachers and students.
