Belleville student is part of school's Feast of Carols

WALLA WALLA, WASH. - As a member of the Whitman College Chorale, Jessica Simmons of Belleville, performed in the 25th Annual Feast of Carols, held Sunday, Dec. 5 in Whitman College's Cordiner Hall.

This popular event brought together the finest choirs in the Walla Walla Valley to the Whitman campus to help usher in holiday cheer. The assortment of vocalists delighted in the opportunity to show off their pipes will simultaneously spreading the joy of the season.

The Whitman College Chorale was founded more than 100 years ago. It has a rich tradition of performing masterworks from the 18th, 19th and 20th Centuries. This chorus of 100 singers also sponsors an annual Commissioning Project, by which major American composers are invited to write new works, especially for the chorale. The Whitman Chorale performs regularly with area symphony orchestras. Recent performances include Mendelssohn's Elijah, Stravinsky's Symphony of Psalms, Mozart's Requiem and the world premiere of John David Earnest's Second Symphony.
