Senior Center plans classes and events

MONROE — The Behring Senior Center has numerous activities and classes planned. Arrangements to participate can be made by calling the senior center at 608-325-3173 or stop at the center reception desk. Participants must pre-register for all programs, including free ones, so staff will know how many will be attending to order supplies or food. All classes and activities are for people 55 and older.

Classes

●  Valentine card making class will be held at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 4 with Sue. There is a cost for this class and all supplies will be provided.

●  A quilting class will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays in March starting March 10 with Tereesa Schroeder. Class is limited to 15 people and there is a cost.

●  A line dancing class will be held at 3 p.m. Mondays starting April 6.

Events

●  Chair massage by Melissa Kieler will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 3, March 2, March 23 and April 6. Sessions are 20 minutes and an appointment is needed. There is a cost. 

●  Julie’s foot care will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 4, 11 and 25. There is a cost and each appointment is 30 minutes. Future dates are March 10, 17 and 31.

●  An Edward Jones Social Security Financial Program will be held at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 4. Lunch will be provided.

●  Breakfast for all veterans and spouses ages 55 and over will be held from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Feb. 5. Do not come before 8 a.m. The next breakfast will be March 4.

●  Open gym for advanced Pickleball will be Thursdays at 3:15 p.m. starting Feb. 6, and social Pickleball will be Fridays at 2 p.m. starting Feb. 7.

●  National heart health “Wear Red Day” will be held at 10 a.m. Feb. 7.

●  Couples anniversary party will be held at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 13. Entertainment by John Duggleby. Refreshments will be provided. Shannan will be taking pictures. Wedding photos can be displayed. There is a cost to attend.

●  Bingo will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 19.

●  The card game Flippo will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Feb. 21.

●  The Feb. movie “Where’d You Go, Bernadette” will be at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 25.

●  Coffee with a cop will be at 9:30 a.m. March 6.

●  Smilin’ St. Paddy’s Party will be held at 1:30 p.m. March 12. Limited to 85 people.

●  Discover your Choices, a program on choosing a senior community, will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. March 24. Sign up with Amanda, 608-558-1783, or Kelly, 608-214-5726.

●  Bowling and a pizza party will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 30 at Leisure Lanes. The cost includes three games, shoe rental, pizza and pop.
