You are welcome to pick-up your copy of “THE RED BRICK AGENDA” at the Behring Senior Center to get more information. They are found inside the Front Lobby door in a basket or in the Wellness Center just inside the door.


VETERAN’S BRUNCH

For all veterans who are 55 years of age and over! Wednesday, December 14th from 10:00am until 12:00pm. We will be having breakfast casserole, sausage, cinnamon rolls, and beverages. Donation of $3.00 and PLEASE CALL (608) 325-3173 so we know how much food to prepare. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED!!! Thank-you.


EXERCISE CLASSES 

Please bring a change of shoes to wear in the gym. Classes are as follows:

1. Fitness First is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 to 9:15am.

2. Men’s Exercise is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:30 to 10:15am.

3. Chair Pilates is on Mondays from 10:45 to 11:30am & Wednesdays 11:45 to 12:30am

4. Balance Yoga is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 10:15am.

5. Dance Aerobics will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. First class is from 8:30 to 9:15 am and the second class is from 10:45 to 11:30am. Please note there are 2 classes!

6. Yoga is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:45am to 12:30pm. 

7. Chair Dancing -Monday Mixer at Noon Dec. 5 & 19

8. Fusion is on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:45 to 11:30am.

The Behring Senior Center offers Drop-ins and Punch Cards for all exercise classes.


CHAIR MASSAGE 

Dates: Fridays, December 2 & 16               Cost: $30.00, Times: 9:30am to 12:00pm (20 minutes)

Melissa Kieler is a Massage Therapist at Healing Notes here in Monroe. You will pay Melissa directly the day of your appointment.


FOOT CARE WITH JULIE

Dates: Tuesdays, December 13, 20, 27, Cost: $42.00 and you will pay Julie directly, Times: 8:00am to 4:00pm. Appointments are around 30 minutes.


Senior Center Library is open on the 2nd floor, 8am-4pm Monday-Friday.  


Table Tennis (ping pong) will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1 pm.  

Pool (Billiards) The pool hall is open from 9am to 4pm Monday-Friday.

Pickleball Beginners: Mondays 2-4 pm, Intermediate: Tues & Thurs 2-4 pm


CARDS 

Card games are at the Senior Center from 12:30 TO 3:30 p.m.  We are playing for fun and there are NO PRIZES.  Mondays are 

Euchre, Tuesdays are Canasta and Horse & Pepper, Thursdays are for 500 and Yass.

Bingo with Aster & Flippo at the Senior Center.  You must sign up because there is a limit of only 35 people.                

* Bingo is Friday, December 9th at 1:30pm.  Aster will be giving away prizes.  Be sure to sign up for this event, remember space is limited, call (608) 325-3173 soon. 

* Flippo is Friday, December 16th at 1:30pm.  You have to bring your own deck of cards. Please sign up for this event.

Movie: Tuesday, December 6th at 1:30pm. Showing is “Maverick”, Rated PG-13, Run time: 2 hours, 10 min.  

Holiday Movie: Monday, December 12th at 1:30pm. Showing is ”Christmas in Connecticut”, Not Rated, Run time: 1 hour, 45 min.  

Movie: Tuesday, December 27th at 1:30pm.  Showing is “The Holiday”, Rate PG-13, Run time: 2 hours, 16 min.

Quilts of Valor

A Quilt of Valor is awarded to a Service Member or Veteran who has been touched by war.  Honor, Freedom, and Comfort are stitched into every quilt to honor his/her service and sacrifice.  Please stop by the Senior Center front desk to pick up a request form.  Call (608) 325-3173 with any questions.

“Anatomy of a Novel” with Author David Benjamin 

Tuesday, January 10th, 1:30 pm   

This is a seminar for both readers and writers. David Benjamin has written 14 novels and has won 20 book awards. He will cover the beginning, the middle, and the end points of how to write a novel.        


Tech Time

Tech Time will be here at the Senior Center! Help is provided by the students of the Monroe High School, and they can assist you with questions about your iPad, tablet, and cell phone. You must register for a 20-minute appointment. 


The Foundational 6

Join Sean Casey from Hometown Pharmacy as he discusses the importance of Multi-Vitamins, Vitamin D-3, Magnesium, Omega-3, Creatine, and Fiber. 


Nutrition with Lucy

Tuesdays:  January 10, 17, 24, & 31, February 7, 14, Time: 10:00 am, Cost: $35.00 

Our very own Lucy Whyte is a certified Nutrition and Wellness Consultant, and we are excited to offer this new program to kick-off in 2023!  This is a six-week Nutrition and Wellness Course with some classes that will involve cooking.  


HOLIDAY CRAFTS   

Wrapping Paper & Gift Bag Craft    Wednesday, Dec. 7th, Time:  1-2:30 pm, Cost: $15.00 per person

Come and decorate craft paper sheets and bags that can be used for wrapping small gifts this holiday season.  Pay the instructor.

Watercolor Holiday Cards         Wednesday, Dec. 21st, Time: 1-2:30 pm, Cost: $20 per person

Create holiday cards to give to family and friends.  Pay the instructor.  

Painting with Nina, Christmas Ornaments

Beginning Tap Dance with Nadine Patchin

Wednesdays: Dec. 7, 14, 21 & Jan. 4, 11, 18, Time: 3-4pm, Cost:  $30.00*, pay instructor

Tap Dance is a great way to move your body and learn a new skill.  Tap shoes are optional but highly recommended.  Each class is independent of the other classes, so no prerequisites are needed.
