BRODHEAD — Wisconsin landowners are invited to learn the fundamentals of safe and effective prescribed fire during a two-part beginner training series, Intro to Woodland & Savanna Burning for WI Landowners, hosted at the Lower Sugar River Field Station at Three Waters Reserve.
Sponsored by the Wisconsin Prescribed Fire Council (WPFC), Pheasants Forever (PF), Lower Sugar River Watershed Association (LSRWA), and Southern Wisconsin Land Conservancy (SWLC), this hands-on program blends classroom instruction with real-world field experience.

Date: Saturday, February 28th
Time: 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
Features an indoor session covering fire ecology, tools, fuels, fire behavior, safety, and crew structure.
● Part II: Field Session
Date: Saturday, March 28th
Time: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Brings participants into the field for practical burn training (rain dates April 18 or 25).
