MADISON - Tyler Barta, Monroe, recently joined other Wisconsin students for the 2011 Business World program, which was held from June 19 to 22 at St. Norbert College, De Pere.
During the Business World core program, student participants were divided into teams and functioned as an imaginary "company" for the program, with the task of turning their company into a financial success. They created unique products, developed marketing strategies and designed commercials. In addition, students interacted with guest speakers, toured local companies and competed in an online business simulation.
The hands-on activities focused on career preparation and workplace skills for success. The program also included workshops, speakers and tours, allowing the students to explore career and education options available in Wisconsin.
