MONROE — SSM Health Monroe Clinic Medical Group Gastroenterology Scheduler, Jacob Barr, has been named the newest recipient of the BEE Award. 

Jacob was nominated by gastroenterology nurse, Beverly Ethridge. Her nomination shared, “Jacob works as a scheduler but does so much more. Due to staffing needs, Jacob readily accepted the challenge of scheduling our patients for procedures prior to being checked out of their office appointments. Recently, he learned how to room the patients so the flow checking in and out would be more efficient. Jacob also has a “superpower” that is his ability to maintain awareness of all that goes on during the day. He lets us know our patient’s needs, phone calls that need answered and helps us respond to urgent situations. With Jacob around, we have such a pleasant work environment.”

The BEE Award was created to recognize any non-nursing staff members who demonstrate excellent quality care, extraordinary compassion, focus on the patient and the patient’s needs and effective collaboration with other members on the patient care team.
