MONROE — Azura Memory Care and Assisted Living connects with local businesses and people to make the dreams of residents come true in a program known as the MOSAIC Dreams. It is similar to the Make a Wish program, but for seniors.

In the years that the MOSAIC Dreams program has been around, Azura has had a resident dance at the halftime show with the Milwaukee Bucks Grand Dancers, fly in an airplane and a helicopter, golf with a world champ, and more.

Merle Rudisill, resident at Azura Memory Care of Monroe, was presented with a Quilt of Valor on Wednesday, March 20 in honor of his military service.

Thanks to Azura’s MOSAIC Dreams program and the volunteers at the Quilts of Valor Foundation, Merle was able to receive his quilt during a touching ceremony with his friends and family in attendance.

Merle is an Illinois native and voluntarily enlisted into the United States Navy in 1951. He served his country during the Korean Conflict as a helmsman on a warship. He completed his service in 1955 under honorable conditions.
