FREEPORT - The Winneshiek Players will hold auditions for "Last Night of Ballyhoo" at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 7 and Tuesday, March 8, in the Winneshiek Playhouse, Freeport.
Tana Gundry will direct the production and all roles are open. "The Last Night of Ballyhoo" takes place in Atlanta, Georgia, in December of 1939. "Gone with the Wind" is having its world premiere, and Hitler is invading Poland, but Atlanta's elitist German Jews are much more concerned with who is going to Ballyhoo, the social event of the season. The family gets pulled apart and then mended together with plenty of comedy, romance and revelations along the way.
A cast of seven is needed, three men and four women, ages 20-50. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. No previous theatrical experience is necessary. Production and backstage crew members are also needed.
For additional information contact the Winneshiek Playhouse at info@wplay.org or by telephone at (815)232-7023, or visit www.wplay.org.
