Arthritis seminar slated for Oct. 2 in Monroe

MONROE - Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis, affecting nearly 21 million Americans and causing symptoms of pain, swelling, and loss of motion.

To help those who deal with osteoarthritis pain better manage their condition, Dr. Peter Szachnowski, Rheumatologist, and Theresa Kind, Physical Therapist, will present "Osteoarthritis: Back, Hips and Knees" as part of Monroe Clinic's Health Advantage series. The event begins at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, in Founders' Hall, located in the lower level of the Monroe Clinic building at 515 22nd Ave., Monroe.

Szachnowski and Kind will cover a wide range of topics related to osteoarthritis management, including: diagnosing osteoarthritis, understanding the symptoms, getting effective treatment, and exercising with osteoarthritis.
