Custard offered to young artists
MONROE - The Youth Services Department of the Monroe Public Library and Culver's Frozen Custard restaurant are teaming up to celebrate National Library Week April 11-16.
Children ages 11 and under may stop by the Youth Services desk at the library to pick up a special drawing sheet and draw a scene from a favorite book. Children are encouraged to be creative with their pictures by using crayons or markers in their drawings.
When the picture is returned, each young artist will receive a coupon for a free scoop of Culver's custard in a cake cone or dish.
The pictures will hang in the second-floor hallway through April. All drawings will be entered in a random drawing which will be held April 30. Winners will receive a coupon for a free kids meal. Children will be notified by telephone.
