Church to host harvest auction
DARLINGTON - The Darlington United Methodist Church, 546 Park Place, will host its annual harvest auction at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20. The auction will feature hundreds of donated items, including baked goods, crafts, home furnishings, and much more. Donations to the auction are welcome. Those wishing to donate may call the church office at (608) 776-4114; and a member will pick up the donation.
The auction will be preceded from 4:30 to 7 p.m. by a cookout, hosted by the United Methodist Men's Group. On the menu are brats, hot dogs, chips, and more.
All festivities are scheduled for the church dining room.

Beginning Birding program is Oct. 21
MONROE - A Green-Rock Audubon program, Beginning Birding, is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21 at Monroe Library's upstairs meeting room. Steve Reischel, an experienced birder, will discuss his lifelong interest in birds.
The program is designed to explain the basics: the books, the tools, the places and times especially in our own backyards and areas.
The program is free and open to the public. For information, call 325-6948.
