Annual Great Steak-Out slated for Aug. 25

MONROE - The 29th annual Great Steak-Out will be held rain or shine from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 25, at the SLICE arena, 4th Ave. West, Monroe.

The cost is $13 for a steak meal or $5 for a hot dog meal. Carry-outs and drive-thru will be available.

Darlington

'Mulan, Jr.' slated Aug. 12 through Aug. 14

DARLINGTON - The Darlington Children's Theater will present Disney's "Mulan, Jr." at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12 and Saturday, Aug. 13 and at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14., at the Darlington High School auditorium, Darlington.

The play will be performed by 40 children, age 10 to 14. Tickets are $6 and only available at the door.

Apple River

Monthly gospel music night set for Aug. 14

APPLE RIVER - The First Presbyterian Church of Apple River, Ill. will host its monthly gospel music night from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14.

Dave Ruter Ministries will be featuring Southern Gospel music for our enjoyment. They have been playing for 40 years.

Everyone is welcome to bring their instrument to join a jam session, which is to follow the featured performer. The evening closes with a sing-a-long.
