Brodhead

Ice cream social slated for July 23

BRODHEAD - The Brodhead United Methodist Church will have its annual ice cream social on Saturday, July 23, in the Fellowship Hall.

Serving will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m., or until all have been served. The event is open to the public.

Orangeville

Tractor show slated for July 2, July 3

ORANGEVILLE - The Jon Briggs Farm will host the John Deere Days tractor show from July 2 to 3, at 13609 Illinois 26 (two miles north of Orangeville).

Two-cylinder and new generation tractors will be featured, as well as other colors. There will be food, a craft show and tractor drive Saturday afternoon. Attendees can visit with the owners and listen to their stories.

Wiota

4th of July bash starts June 30

WIOTA - The Wiota Firemen's Annual 4th of July celebration will be from Thursday night, June 30 through Sunday night, July 3, with the street dance on Saturday night, July 2 and the parade, talent show and fireworks on Sunday, July 3.

Those wishing to enter the talent show can call Tina Schliem at (608) 574-0005. The talent show will be at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, July 3.

Anyone wishing to enter a float can call Paul Finley at (608) 968-3428, or Ron Nethery at (608) 968-3336. The parade will be at noon Sunday, July 3.

Fayette

Picnic, reunion set for July 9

FAYETTE - The sixth bi-annual Town of Fayette picnic/reunion will be held Saturday, July 9 at the RFS Center.

Parade line-up will begin at 10:30 a.m., with the parade to start at 11 a.m.

The picnic will start at noon. Attendees should bring a dish to pass, table service, beverages and lawn chairs. Lemonade and coffee will be provided.

At 1 p.m., a program will be held that includes raffle drawings for a quilt, original painting and more. At 2 p.m., there will be a street dance performance.

Old-time pictures and memorabilia will also be on display, and attendees can ride through the Boise property by either wagon or their own vehicle from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. In addition, fireworks will be held at dusk.
