Albany

UMC plans ice cream social

ALBANY - Albany United Methodist Church's annual Ice Cream Social is scheduled from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1 at the church, 105 South Mill St.

The menu includes barbecue, hot dogs, potato salad, chips, baked beans, pie, ice cream, lemonade, milk and coffee.

Billy the Clown will be at the event.

All proceeds will go to the AUMC Building Fund.

Loaves and Fishes meal is July 29

MONROE - The Loaves and Fishes Community Meal of Green County will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 29 at Grace Lutheran Church, 1025 15th Ave.

This month's sponsor is the St. Vincent de Paul Conference.

Meals are normally held the fourth Sunday of every month, but due to a scheduling conflict at the church, the meal will be held the fifth Sunday of July only.

Albany

Free outdoor movie slated for Aug. 3

ALBANY - The Albany Community Center is hosting a free outdoor family movie night starting around 8:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3 in the parking lot of the Albany Schools, 400 5th St.

If it rains, the movie will be held in the Albany Elementary School gym.

There will be popcorn, soda, water, candy and snacks for sale. Those who go will need to bring their lawn chairs and blankets.

MCCONNELL

Tractor ride, dinner to benefit museum

MCCONNELL, Ill. - Terry and Deb Price will host a tractor ride and dinner Saturday, Aug. 4 at their farm, 8641 N. Flansburg Road, McConnell, to benefit the McConnell Area Historical Society and Museum.

Free tractor rides will take place at about 1 p.m. All makes and models of tractors are welcome. Wagons for people to ride along will also be available for the public.

Following the ride, a dinner will be served on the farm at 5:30 p.m. The meal will cost $10 per person and will include two pork chops, potato salad, peas/carrots, rolls, homemade pie and choice of drink.

Brat Day to aid homelessness set

MONROE - Wisconsin Community Bank is hosting a "Brat Day" from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 27 in the lobby of the bank, 1717 10th St.

The cost is $3 for a brat, soda and chips, or $2 for a brat only. All proceeds benefit the Homelessness Prevention Coalition of Green County.

Clothing exchange to start July 26

MONROE - The free Green County Clothing Exchange, sponsored by CDA Court Mazzuchelli No. 2609 - Green County, will take place Thursday, July 26 through Sunday, July 29.

The event will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. July 26; from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 27; from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 to 6 p.m. July 28; and from 8 a.m. to noon July 29 at St. Victor School, 1416 20th Ave.
