Historical Society meeting is on Feb. 4

DARLINGTON - The Lafayette County Historical Society's quarterly meeting is set for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Historical Society Museum, 525 Main St.

There will be an informational presentation about the Daughters of the American Revolution, including the history of the organization in Monroe and Lafayette counties and their current activities.

Spaghetti supper slated for Feb. 6

MONROE - The Care Net Pregnancy Center of Green County is holding an "all-you-can-eat" spaghetti supper fundraiser from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6 at the Hope Community Center, 2902 13th St.

Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for children ages 4 to 12, and children under 4 are free. Tickets will be available at the door the night of the supper.

The meal will include spaghetti, garlic bread, fresh vegetables with dip, beverages and homemade desserts. Vegetarian sauce and carry-outs will be available.

Donations of homemade desserts, including diabetic desserts, are needed. Anyone wishing to donate a dessert can call the Pregnancy Center at (608) 325-5051. These items can be dropped off at the Hope Community Center the day of the supper after 2 p.m. Contributors are asked to not cut the desserts in advance.

The Care Net Pregnancy Center of Green County is a non-profit organization that strives to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, and material needs of women and families experiencing crisis pregnancy situations. All services are free and confidential.

DOAR meeting to be held on Feb. 7

MONROE - The Col. Benjamin Harris Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, N3150 Wisconsin 81.

Barb Nemec will present an informational program about the DAR's role in the national defense throughout history and presently.

The group will consider activities that support historical preservation and patriotism in the communities.
