Choirs to present 'Season of Joy'

JUDA - Under the direction of Shelly Jordan, choir members from Oakley-Union and Juda-Zion United Methodist Churches will present "Season of Joy" - a Celtic Christmas celebration, at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2 and 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 at Zion Church, N2350 Church.

Also featured in the program will be Irish dancers, Emily and Megan Pollock.

Offering plates will not be passed during the performances, but those attending may leave a freewill offering at the back of the church. This year, a portion of the offering will be given to the Green County Food Pantry. Refreshments will be served after the celebration, in the Fellowship Hall.

Albany

Chili, potato supper slated for Dec. 5

ALBANY - A chili and baked potato supper and silent auction will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5 at the Hilltop Community Church, 101 S. Jackson St.

A freewill offering will be accepted for the supper. Those who attend can bid in the silent auction until 7:30 p.m.

MBPA to host potluck Wednesday

MONTICELLO - The Monticello Business and Professional Association is hosting its 2012 MBPA Holiday Potluck at noon Wednesday, Dec. 5 at the Community Center, 316 East Coates Ave.

Those who attend can learn about the success of the Small Business Saturday and help MBPA in welcoming two businesses new to the community, Faith Engineering and Family Fresh Pack.

The 2013 membership applications are now available online at www.monticello-wi.com. MBPA dues paid in 2012 will receive a 10 percent discount on membership dues.

Christmas bake sale set for Dec. 8

MONTICELLO - Zwingli Women's Guild will sponsor a pre-Christmas bake sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Zwingli United Church of Christ, 416 E. Lake Ave.

Holiday cookies, bratzelies, breads, angel food cakes, pear bread and many other baked goods will be available for purchase. Containers will be provided. Free coffee will be available.

St. John's cookie, candy sale planned

MONROE - St. John's United Church of Christ will hold its seventh annual Christmas cookie/candy sale from 8 until 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Fellowship Hall, 1724 14th St.

Items available include cookies, candy, gift baskets of goodies, braetzeli and specialty breads.

Free coffee will be available while shopping.

Monroe

Community center available for rent

MONROE - The Monroe Community Center, 1110 18th Ave., is available to rent for a family gatherings and celebrations.

The center can be used for reunions, bridal showers, birthday parties, wedding receptions and other get-togethers. The rental fee is $65 for the day and includes use of the community center, kitchen, TV and Xbox game system. Those who intend to use the Xbox need to bring their own games.

The center has a number of dates still available for the upcoming holidays. More information is available by calling (608) 329-2460.
