Bel Canto Singers concert is April 22

MONROE - The Bel Canto Singers will present their annual spring concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 22 at the Monroe Arts Center, 1315 11th St.

The concert will feature music of Broadway. The public is invited and admission is free.

Allen Redford directs the Bel Canto Singers. He is also the director of choral music at Highland College.

The Bel Canto Singers include Susan Anderson, Kim Becker, Bobbie Bernet, Hans Bernet, Linda Boll, George Breadon, Tracy Bristow, Ed Grabow, Mary Hamilton, Jeff Ingebritsen, Meghan Jordan, Shelly Jordan, Patty Linden, Rachel Long, Jane Olson, Christina Parkinson, Bob Severson Jr., Mary Soddy, George Vernon, Martha Wolf and Don Zimmerman.

School concert set for Tuesday

MONROE - The fourth- and fifth-graders at Abraham Lincoln Accelerated Learning Academy will present a spring concert for the public at 1:30 and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 17 in the Performing Arts Center at the high school, 1600 26th St.

The concert will include the fifth-grade choir, solos and small ensembles and a musical celebrating a day in the life of a kid titled "It's Saturday."

Fish fry to benefit Relay effort

BRODHEAD - Brodhead Relay Team J & J - Double the Cure is hosting a Friday night fish and chicken buffet from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 27 at the Red Flame Family Restaurant, 2107 1st Center Ave.

The buffet is a team fundraiser for the 2012 Green County Relay.
