Public library seeks volunteers

MONROE - Monroe Public Library is seeking adult volunteers for a variety of projects.

The library volunteer opportunities available for adults 18 years or older that match different schedules, skills and interests.

Currently, the library has openings for the following volunteer positions: newsletter editor, special events volunteer, shelf reader to check shelves to determine that materials are in proper order; local history blogger, and a volunteer to select and deliver library materials to home-bound patrons.

Potential volunteers should stop by the library's circulation desk and ask for a volunteer application.

Wis. Singers to perform March 6

MONROE - Monroe High School's "Acappella" will share the stage with the Wisconsin Singers from the University of Wisconsin-Madison at the Monroe High School PAC at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 6.

This is a change from the original start time of 3 p.m.

For 43 years, the Wisconsin Singers have toured the country, performing big-band music with Broadway choreography.

Their newest show, "We'll Take You There," is billed as a "musical journey across the United States from the beaches of L.A. to the streets of New York."

The concert is a fundraiser for the MHS choral department. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students/seniors and are available by calling (608) 886-6801 or by visiting www.WisconsinSingers. com/Monroe.
