ARGYLE - The 78th annual Fish Fry Supper will be held from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 24 at the big tent in front of the firehouse in Argyle, located at the intersection of Wisconsin 78 and 81.

The menu will include deep-fried fish, french fries, coleslaw and all the trimmings. Live music during the meal will be provided by Rowe Brothers Band.

The Argyle Booster Club's 15th annual Golf Classic at Yellowstone Golf Course starts at 8 a.m.

There also will be a dairy promotion area, serving cheese from Lafayette and Green county cheese factories.

The 26th annual Argyle Duck Races will be held on the Pecatonica River, weather permitting. The race begins at about 2 p.m. at Steve's Garage on Wis. 81 west. The finish line is at the Robert Wenger boat landing. Prizes will be awarded. Tickets will be available throughout Argyle.

The Argyle Lions Club is holding the annual Fun Ride, with cash prizes and door prizes. All types of vehicles are welcome: cars, motorcycles and trucks. Registration is at 10 a.m. at Good Fellas Tavern in Argyle. Maps will be available that day, and the event will be held rain or shine. There will be a drawing for cash prizes at the end of the ride. Proceeds will go to the Argyle Lions Club.

The day also will include the 2017 Green County Dairy Days parade and the crowning of the 2017-18 Green County dairy queen and princess.

The profits will be distributed back into the community for improvement projects. This community event takes more than 200 volunteers to serve as fish fryers and wait persons and to handle the set-up and take-down.

The Fish Fry is a rain or shine event, but the duck race could be postponed or rescheduled in case of inclement weather.
