Argyle library offering programs, guest speaker

ARGYLE - The Argyle Public Library is offering several programs through the end of October.

The library is sponsoring the "Life in Lafayette" speaker series to highlight important community topics in Lafayette County and to provide an opportunity to engage with community dialogue. Mark Louden, professor of German at UW-Madison, will speak on his book "Who Are the Amish" at 7 p.m. Thursday at the library, Central 52, 300 E. Milwaukee St. Food will be available for purchase.

Storywalk at Erickson Wetlands will be held Saturday and Sunday at the wetlands at the back of the parking lot of Argyle Legion Park. Drop by anytime throughout the weekend to walk a 1-mile out-and-back trail, posted with a children's story, "Fletcher and the Falling Leaves."

"Library Apps, E-books and Digital Resources" will be held at 1 p.m. Monday. This is an adult program led by instructor Sarah Kyrie. She will demonstrate what digital resources the library offers.

"Fermenting Veggies" is an adult class that will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Instructors Caleb Caccari-Swift and Eva Denny will show how sauerkraut, kimchi and other fermenting traditions are both healthful and delicious.
