Argyle Library to host illustrator, host presentations

ARGYLE — The Argyle Public Library’s Summer Reading Program hosts illustrator Emily Balsley at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27. 

Emily Balsley is an illustrator and muralist living in Madison. Her work includes book and editorial illustration, games and puzzles, posters, maps, and murals. She is active in the creative community, participating in art events, gallery shows, panel discussions, and occasionally leading workshops and art classes. When she’s not drawing, she loves spending time in nature watching TV, and hanging out with her friends and family. 

Emily will speak about her work and lead the group in an art project. 

Bring chairs and blankets. All are welcome. Those continuing working on their summer reading punch cards can earn prizes available at Argyle Public Library.

Residency on the Farm Artist’s Showcase

Co-sponsored by Argyle Public Library and Historic Argyle. Doors open at 10:30 a.m., presentations and performances starting at 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 1 at Bob La Follette Museum, 204 E. Milwaukee St., Argyle, 53504.

This summer the Residency on the Farm Artist’s showcase will return to Argyle. Join them on the balmy grounds of the Bob La Follette House (or in the Argyle Community Space if there is inclement weather) as artists of all kinds treat the audience to work created during their time at the interdisciplinary residency just outside town. It is to be a music concert and poetry reading and gallery art show all rolled into one. Previous showcases have also involved baked goods. Bring a blanket or chair to sit on.
