WHITEWATER - The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater theater and dance department will produce Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with a unique twist this week - every night a new cast will be picked from a hat. Showings begin today and will run through Saturday in Hicklin Studio Theatre.
Guest director Lenny Banovez, New York, brought his adapted script to Whitewater.
Performing in the cast ensemble is Makenzie Smith, a senior theater major from Monroe, and Christopher James, a senior general management and theater major from Argyle who will perform as Puck.
Each night, nearly every character in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" will be selected by the audience regardless of gender, race or age. The theater has seating on all four sides, and actors will enter and exit from various locations onstage.
Seating is limited; advance purchase is recommended. For tickets, call 262-472-2222 or go online at tickets.uww.edu.
