Area nurses win Circle of Excellence award

MONROE - The Northern Illinois Chapter of American Association of Critical Care Nurses have been awarded the American Association of Critical Care Nurses coveted Circle of Excellence Award for Excellence in Chapter Community Education and Public Service.

The Excellence in Chapter Community Education and Public Service award recognizes chapters that have made an outstanding public service contribution in their local community through community education and involvement while actively supporting AACN's mission, vision and values.

The Northern Illinois Chapter was honored May 19, at AACN National Teaching Institute and Critical Care Exposition in Washington, DC.

Whenever our needs cannot be met elsewhere the Monroe Clinic has always been there to help, said Beverly Ethridge RN PCCN, NIAACN President and a staff nurse on the night shift in the medical surgical unit at the Monroe Clinic.

Founded in 1974, the Northern Illinois Chapter of Critical Care Nurses is the local chapter of American Association of Critical Care Nurses. Its 113 members cover neonatal, pediatric, and adult intensive care, cardiac, telemetry, ER, neuro/burn and all areas where nurses work with critically ill patients.
